At low and mid volumes, Jotform includes more responses for the money. Typeform includes team seats on its mid-tier plans and is built around a conversational form style. For most small businesses, the choice depends on volume and on how many people need a login.

Both start at $39 a month on monthly billing. At that price, Jotform’s Bronze plan includes 1,000 submissions a month, and Typeform’s Basic plan includes 100 responses.

Prices and limits here come from each company’s pricing and help pages, checked October 13, 2026. We haven’t tested either product hands-on for this comparison.

Quick verdict

Choose Jotform if:

  • You expect more than a couple hundred responses a month
  • You use the form for operations: orders, bookings, intake, applications, signatures
  • One person manages your forms
  • You need HIPAA features without an enterprise contract

Choose Typeform if:

  • The form is part of your marketing, and the conversational style is what you want
  • Response volume is low or easy to predict
  • Three to five people need their own logins and you don’t want to negotiate an enterprise plan

The free plans differ most on volume. Typeform’s 10 responses a month, counted across all your forms, is enough to try the builder or run a form that rarely gets used. A form with regular traffic will pass it. Jotform’s 100 a month leaves room for a low-traffic contact form or a small event, though it limits you to five forms where Typeform sets no limit.

Some things to take from the table:

At 1,000 responses a month, Jotform costs about half as much on monthly billing: $39 against $79. On yearly billing it’s $34 against $56.

At 10,000 responses a month, the prices are nearly the same. Jotform Gold is $129 and Typeform Business is $129 on monthly billing. On yearly billing Typeform is slightly cheaper, and it includes five users.

Typeform’s yearly discount is larger. Basic drops from $39 to $28 a month when you pay for the year. Jotform Bronze drops from $39 to $34.

Removing branding costs more on Typeform. Any paid Jotform plan lets you remove Jotform’s branding. On Typeform, that starts with Plus.

What happens when you hit the limit

Both tools stop collecting.

Typeform’s help center says that at 100% of your monthly limit, your forms go into “Private mode” until the next month starts or you upgrade. Jotform emails you a warning and then disables your forms, which show a “Form over quota” message.

Neither one gives responses back if you delete them. Typeform does sell extra responses as an add-on and offers an auto-upgrade setting. Jotform’s documented options are to wait for the reset or move up a plan.

Form experience and design

The two products start from different defaults. Typeform describes its forms as conversational and builds its product around that format. Jotform’s default is the traditional form, with fields laid out on a page. Jotform also has a one-question-per-page format called Jotform Cards, and its features page lists more than 20,000 templates and support for custom CSS.

Which format works better depends on the form and the people filling it out. A long application may be easier to scan on one page. A short survey may suit a conversational flow.

On branding, Typeform Plus adds a custom subdomain along with branding removal. Custom domains on Typeform are an Enterprise feature.

We haven’t tested either builder, so we aren’t going to say which one looks better or is easier to work in. Both have free plans. Build the same short form in each and judge for yourself.

Logic and integrations

Both include conditional logic on every plan, including the free ones. Typeform’s free plan covers branching, calculations, scores, and variables. Jotform’s logic can show or hide fields and change emails and thank-you messages based on answers.

Both connect to the usual business apps. Typeform’s pricing page lists Google Sheets, HubSpot, Mailchimp, Slack, Salesforce, and Zapier, among others. Jotform’s site cites 150+ integrations in one place and 200+ in another. If one specific connection matters to you, check both lists for it by name.

Payments, files, and compliance

Payments. Typeform takes payments through Stripe, and the payment question is a paid-plan feature. Jotform works with a longer list of processors, including Stripe, PayPal, Square, and Authorize.Net, and allows payments on its free plan, up to 10 a month. Jotform says it charges no transaction fee of its own.

File uploads. Typeform’s file upload is a paid feature with 1 GB of storage on Basic. Jotform includes uploads on every plan, with 100 MB on the free plan and 1 GB on Bronze.

HIPAA. Jotform offers HIPAA features on Gold and Enterprise. Typeform lists HIPAA under Enterprise only. On Jotform they have to be enabled on the account, and a Business Associate Agreement is part of the setup. Having the features doesn’t make you compliant by itself.

Team access. Typeform Plus includes three users and Business includes five. Jotform’s help center says only its Enterprise plan supports inviting team members.

Which fits your business

Service business taking bookings, deposits, or intake forms. Jotform is the closer fit on price. You’ll likely want payments, uploads, and room for more than 100 responses, and Bronze covers those for $39 a month. Typeform Plus covers them too, at $79.

Marketing team running lead-gen forms and quizzes. Typeform makes sense if you want its conversational format and several people need access. Plus is the likely starting point, since Basic includes 100 responses and one user.

Solo consultant with a short inquiry form. Jotform’s free plan may be all you need. Typeform’s free plan works only if you get fewer than 10 inquiries a month.

Small clinic or therapy practice. Jotform Gold is the lower-cost route to HIPAA features. Typeform requires an Enterprise plan for them.

Occasional customer survey with a few dozen responses. Typeform Basic can work, and the yearly price is lower than Jotform Bronze. Check that 100 responses a month is enough.
